The Program has been developed in, La Cruz, Upala, Los Chiles and Guatuso. This regionalization corresponds to communities with similar conditions, from the weather, socioeconomic and infrastructural point of view.

The financial necessities and the credit plans are considered depending on the use technology, the weather area, the conditions of the land and the producer. To date, the Program has financed the sows of 1.197 hectares to 133 farmers. Since the program started, it has contemplated inside its limits and its orientation to the market, the conservation and the environmental sustainability through the handling of the production. Fomenting the use of practical and conservationist technologies, guided toward an improved conventional production, with a rational use of agrochemicals.

The Program conceives the environmental sustainability under a balanced perspective with the economic and social sustainability, guiding the productive unit toward the most efficient use of its scarce natural resources. As part of this objective the Program looks for and promotes the use of technological packages of low environmental impact.

The crop time begins in December and concludes in April, with its production highest point in the months of February and March.

The most frequently used varieties for the elaboration of juices are the Valencia, Midsweet and Pineapple. There is also available fresh fruit, frozen concentrated juice (JCCN) and aseptic juice (NFC). These products are available under conditions of conventional cultivation, with controlled practical handling.
